Roland Riegelnegg leaves nothing to chance when it comes to his wines. Whether in the vineyard or working in the cellar, careful planning and a high standard of quality accompany him in his work day after day. Firmly rooted in the area aorund the Sernauberg in Gamlitz, he creates a successful combination of tradition and innovation with his wines and puts his own unmistakable stamp on each wine.

the winery

The vineyards of the Riegelnegg-Olwitschhof winery are located in the heart of Gamlitz, in the middle of the South Styrian vineyard landscape and extend along the Gamlitz Sernauberg over a radius of 2 kilometers. The two flagships of the winery are the Sernauberg and Welles vineyards. It is a family business as it is written in the book and the whole family is convinced that firm solidarity and mutual support form the basis for outstanding wines.

Barrique ageing is Roland Riegelnegg’s passion – and his efforts in this area were rewarded with the “Tonnellerie Sylvain Trophy” at the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon in 2021. The Sauvignon blanc Ried Sernauberg Exzellenz 2018 was named the best Sauvignon aged in barriques in the world. A wine with a complex interplay of aromas that you have to give time to enjoy.
